Fathers Make a Difference Month
Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle and his administration have taken an unprecedented leadership role in promoting responsible fatherhood and partnering with representatives from fatherhood advocacy groups, service providers, faith-based institutions, and local government. He has signed the first state proclamation declaring June to be Fathers Make a Difference Month in the State of Wisconsin, and his administration is working with entities across the state to raise awareness of the importance of fathers in the positive development of their children.
One out of every five Wisconsin families with children does not have a father present in the home. The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families, other state agencies, and local partners are eager to help fathers gain the tools they need to get involved with their children and support their healthy development. Fathers Make a Difference Month is an excellent opportunity for public and private partners to raise awareness across every area of the State of Wisconsin.
